A small space for an idea

Not every frontend idea needs a whole application. Sometimes the useful part is a single interaction: a CSS animation, a layout experiment, or a few lines of JavaScript that make something click.

Tinkr is a project built around that smaller scale. The idea is to give those experiments a place of their own, where the code and the thing it creates can stay close together.

Frontend experiments, with room to grow

The project calls these experiments Tinks. Its direction is a playground for creating, keeping, and eventually sharing small pieces of frontend work, with useful discovery alongside the editor.

Tinkr is still in development. The foundation starts with creating and saving private Tinks; the broader editing, publishing, and discovery experience is the next part of the project.

The interesting part

A good playground should make it easy to try a small change and understand its effect. That is the thread connecting Tinkr with the interactive CSS examples on this site: learning by changing something and seeing what happens.
